Why the Orbiter curing light shield is something to consider

CDA Tija Hunter discusses the benefits, features of this Ergocept dental product.

I’d love to introduce you to The Orbiter®! It is the first curing light eyeshield of its kind and stands apart from the rest for some amazing reasons.

It rotates freely 360 degrees, which allows the clinician to adjust the filter into position "on the fly" while curing. It is also self-uprights, which brings the filter into your line of sight for most positions. These unique features make the curing process very efficient and saves time during the day.

Curing lights today generate more intense light, and only need seconds to cure. If something is that intense, imagine what it can do to the naked eye; retinal burns, cataracts and/or advancement of macular degeneration. Even small glimpses of the light can cause ocular damage.

Many times I’ve been told, “It’s no big deal, I only look for a second” but the truth is, each time you look at the blue light you are causing damage, which adds up. It may not be a problem today, or next week, but the cumulative damage over time can have some life-altering effects on your sight.

Looking away from the light often allows the light to "drift” away from the area we need to cure causing inadequate polymerization of restorations. That may cause sensitivity and shorten the life of the restoration.

Protect your eyesight and the eyesight of your team members by using an efficient shield that does what no other shield can do!
