One of the most difficult, yet ultimately satisfying, tasks in restorative dentistry is tooth shade matching.

Whether you want to create a natural-looking direct restoration or are preparing an indirect script for a lab, the odds are not always in your favor due to the fact that the tooth color is multi-factorial.

Shade matching is a complicated procedure, and some measure of a successful result is completely subjective. There are a myriad of challenges you will face.

First, you’re relying on a product you’ve chosen to meet your patients’ expectations for a beautiful result. Second, you’re up against some tough obstacles: how you personally perceive colors, your gender, your age and the clinical environment-all things you cannot easily change.

Luckily, we have identified all of the challenges and have come up with some solutions in our free e-book sponsored by SDI.

In this e-book, we discuss shade matching challenges and product solutions. Click here to download the e-book.
