Doctors have different reasons for integrating digital technology into their practice including improved workflow and reliability for care, among other factors.

“We incorporated this new technology into our office to benefit our wonderful patients,” says New Jersey-based dentist Dr. Robert M. Bagoff.

Digital systems are not all created equally, and dentists shouldn’t acquire technology simply because it’s new.

Before purchasing a Carestream Dental’s CS 9300, Dr. Bagoff and 10 other providers set on "a five-month fact-finding tour” searching for honest feedback from providers who recently purchased a CBCT system.

"There are a lot of other units on the market, and each one has its own pros and cons. But when we looked at everything, the CS 9300 simply made the most sense," he explains.

Dr. David Little, a dentist based on Texas, says he looked for a system would work well with his practice’s existing technology.

“An integrated technology platform that works for all aspects of the practice - from capturing images to diagnosing diseases, from your front office to your multiple practice operatories - is the solution,” he explains. “As both a dentist and a practice owner, I understand the need for technological investments to enhance my practice, and Carestream Dental has been my answer.”

Regardless of the amount of research you put in, going digital won’t be without its challenges, which often include space and training.

Dr. Bagoff solved his issue of office space by designing a new practice around digital.

“From the onset, we decided we would have digital workflow, initially working with the architect to rationalize the space and then with the accountant to determine the cost of the equipment,” he says.

To allow staff to learn the new digital system, Dr. Bagoff incorporated initial and ongoing training into his monthly continuing educational routine.

“From there, we had to account for the educational time for the doctor and staff and finally work with the Carestream representatives to help incorporate these tools into our practice,” he says.

Dr. Hickenlooper, a Colorado-based dentist, says going digital with Carestream Dental complete solutions has completely changed his practice.

“We have had intraoral images that sold dentistry, since a patient can see the crack or calculus,” he says. “I’m not sure why I waited so long to make the switch.”

In this e-book, Dr. Bagoff, Dr. Little and Dr. Hickenlooper explain their journey of going digital using Carestream Dental solutions and how it benefited the way they practice.
