Participants recently traveled to Vancouver and Vident's home office in Brea, Calif. to attend hands-on denture courses taught by Dennis Purinton, CDT. Attendees learned to demonstrate proper articulation techniques focusing on mandibular denture stability and lingualized occlusion. Using available information, such as landmarks of the mouth, facial shape and gender, participants completed one denture set up with VITA Physiodens Anterior and Lingoform upper and lower posterior teeth. Students were provided with a Protar Articulator from Kavo, base plate wax and an APT portable burner to use during the course. Finishing techniques using GC’s Gradia Gum tissue characterization materials and VITA VMLC tooth characterization materials were also discussed and demonstrated.
