New Mexico may be known as the Land of Enchantment, but we’re not being fooled by these numbers. The state earns poor rankings for median income (45th), percent of people on Medicaid (50th) and financial savviness (49th). On the bright side, New Mexico ranks as one of the safer states, coming in 17th place.
