The best and worst states to work in a dental practice: 2017
From 1 to 50, we looked at each state to see how it really stacks up for dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants and dental front office team members.
Prospects in the Golden State look bright, as it ranks number nine in median income and fifth in overall well being ... at least until you look at the exorbitant cost of living and low oral health ranking. While you may be blinded by the stars in Tinsel Town, you'd also have to be blind to not cringe at Cali's near-bottom-of-the-barrel ranking for percentage of patients on Medicaid. At the very least, the people of California can take solace in their high ranking for financial savviness!
|Median income||9||Financial savvy||12|
|Overall well-being||5||% uninsured||25|
|Cost of living||48||% on Medicaid||25|
|% who visited dentist in last year||27||Total score||305|
