Why dentists choose Macs

A significant number of dentists have chosen Macs for their office…many more are considering it. Why? There are lots of good reasons.

Apple’s success.

In the first quarter— in the midst of a recession—Apple was a continued source of good news with strong product sales, record gross profit margins and revenue, innovative products, and a growing U.S. consumer market share of 20% for 2008.

Apple’s Chief Financial Officer, Peter Oppenheimer, described the quarter as “the best non-holiday earnings in the company’s history.”

Another new version of Mac OS X and an update to Apple’s iPhone software development kit are excitedly anticipated this summer.

Coolness
Apple reports continued strong growth sales for iPhones, iPods and iTunes. Who doesn’t have one? The iPhone App store already has exceeded 1 billion software downloads.

No. 1 support ranking
Repeatedly rated No. 1 by J. D. Power and Associates, Apple is the only computer manufacturer of both computer and operating system. A single call to Apple provides support for hardware, OS, and many Apple applications such as Final Cut, iPhoto, Keynote, Pages, Numbers, iTunes, iMovie, etc.

Engineering innovation, excellence
Universally recognized to be an innovator, Apple is a design leader and uncontested interface expert. Apple computers provide easy use and feature the newest Intel and NVIDIA processors.

Versatility
Virtual Machines allow dentists to run Windows applications on their Mac computers. Dentists upgrading to Macs can even re-use some PCs by using Aqua Connect Terminal (ACT) session to run MacPractice. ACT requires a Mac Pro or Xserve with Mac OS X Server software.

Other reasons dentists are choosing Macs include lower costs of server, installation, training and hardware support, reliability and heightened productivity, security, consistency, quality displays and compatibility with digital imaging solutions.
