Art of articulation
Little features add to the comfort, economy, and utility of the Ulti-Mate articulator. By Tom Zaleske, AS; Matrix Dental Laboratory. Information provided by Whip Mix Corp.
Designed for efficiency and simplicity, the lightweight Hanau Ulti-Mate articulator combines high-end features in an economical, ergonomic unit. It offers the ability to lay the base at 45°, which positions a mounted case to the technician at a “work friendly” angle for hands-free tabletop viewing. The removable extension pin allows the articulator to be opened without the top half swinging into the lower base. A simple, effective, push-pull centric locking pin uses a detent system with a magnetized fossa, replacing fragile spring latches or screw adjustments to simplify activating the lateral and protrusive movements. Magnetized fossa eliminate premature separation of upper and lower halves. A magnetic mounting system fits this instrument allowing the plates to snap into place for precise and repeatable alignment.
Features
Protrusive angle fixed at 30° and built-in 15° Bennett to accommodate average patient
Magnetized fossa allows instant positioning of condyle to hinge position
Centric lock pins relate the upper member to the hinge axis position
Curved linear path
Midline pointer
Tilts back at a 45° angle for hands-free tabletop viewing
Removable upper member and open frame design permit accessibility
Lightweight, durable, and easy to handle and clean
Can be used with the Hanau “Slidematic” facebow
