The manufacturing process of zirconia blanks for CAD/CAM milling is of crucial importance, especially as far as mechanical and optical properties are concerned. Produced in-house to control quality standards, Ceramill Zi presintered YTZP zirconium oxide blanks provide exceptional mill processing characteristics because of their splinter-proof edge stability, flexural strength, and homogeneity. Manufactured of high-quality raw materials and by technologically advanced pressing techniques, the zirconia blanks undergo strict testing according to stipulated parameters before, during, and after the production process. The first step involves an intensive examination of the raw material powder, whereby important characteristics such as Vickers hardness, porosity, and the microstructure are tested.

	Organic binding agent is added to the high-quality pure ZrO2 powder for stabilization
	The ZrO2 powder and organic binding agent are compacted to green compacts in a hermetically sealed manufacturing room.
	White compacts are manufactured using a temperature- and time-dependent process to eliminate the binding agent.
	The blank forms are automatically labelled with the lot number for identification of shrinkage properties.
