Cendres+Métaux and Metalor Dental join forces

The Cendres+Métaux Group of Biel-Bienne is taking over the Metalor Dental firm, based in Oensingen. With this merger, Cendres+Métaux is reinforcing its market position in the area of dental medicine. The staff members of Metalor Dental will continue to be employed.

Cendres+Métaux is in the process of becoming a worldwide leading manufacturer of precious-metal alloys for use in dental medicine. Retroactively as of 1 January 2009, the tradition-rich company, whose headquarters is in Biel-Bienne, is taking over the Metalor Dental firm, which is based in Oensingen. “With this merger, we can substantially broaden our range of products and optimally unite the strengths of two very healthy Swiss companies”, says Peter Häsler, CEO of Cendres+Métaux. “Our customers will profit from an attractive and comprehensive product portfolio, a wide distribution network and excellent services, all in established Swiss quality”, Peter Häsler adds. “All products will continue to be manufactured in Switzerland in the future.”

Merger of leading companies

Cendres+Métaux is the world market leader in the production and marketing of attachments for the production of dentures and has at its disposal a wide range of dental alloys, which are also marketed all over the world. Metalor Dental is a leading company in the field of dental alloys and can look back on 150 years of tradition. The firm has a workforce of around 90 in eight countries, and its dental products are available in over 20 markets. The Metalor Dental staff will reinforce the Cendres+Métaux team.

One-stop shop

In future, the dental division of Cendres+Métaux will offer the entire range of products for prosthetics from one source. The company covers all processes, from casting the precious metal alloys and manufacturing the attachments to refining waste that contains precious metals. In certain chosen markets, various laboratory products, such as the 'Scopeform Easy' electroplating system and the 'Creation' ceramics range will be marketed, along with appliances.

Dynamic group of companies

The Cendres+Métaux Group, with headquarters in Biel-Bienne, manufactures sophisticated prod-ucts from superlative materials. It develops, produces, markets and sells its own goods and market services – as well as customer-specific products – for dental medicine, medical technology and the watch and jewellery industry. In the course of over 125 years, a small precious-metal smelting business has developed into a dynamic group of companies with a workforce of around 470. In 2008, Cendres+Métaux was honoured with the 'Espace Mittelland' entrepreneurial award.
